This is a good and practical way to cook your meat. Its great fun, for you and all your guests: You either carve the meat to perfection, this will make it go further, hack at it, or get some one you know from down the pub to carve!!
We supply the pole and all clamps for you to prepare your meat. We recommend that you let us supply meat and prepare, as we have the expertise and over 30 years in the meat trade. This of course is entirely up to the hirer.
The machine needs an electric supply to operate the spit, but the cooking uses propane gas, (we can supply propane at a cost of £10.00/cylinder).The machine is made in stainless steel for easy cleaning, it also has a rack where your stuffing can be cooked or up to 60 jacket potatoes to complete the perfect Hog Roast. (Trays at extra cost.)
We require £50.00 Deposit. That is returned IF the machine is properly cleaned. You need scalding hot water, hand brushes, quality scourers, oven cleaner is a big help, along with elbow grease. NEVER use a hose, as cold water makes it hard work and could get in the electrics. It takes us about ¾ of an hour to clean down. BUT COULD TAKE YOU LONGER especially if the £50.00 is to be returned:
Any damage caused through neglect is to be paid for in full. If a fire happens it is down to the hirer as the machine has been left unattended or the gas has been set to high. Small fires can happen but are very rare. Have damp clothe at the ready and turn of gas. It does not ruin the meat if you have been due diligent and act swiftly. We will supply protective gloves and arm protectors for your safety as the spit roast oven gets very hot. I hope this does not put you of trying to spit roast your selves, as it really is good fun, and very easy, we give you all the guidance and help that is possible, the rest is down to you!!
To serve the meat and keep hot we can supply our Garden Gourmet gas hot plate/wok. This can also cook your sausages and fried onions (you can cook earlier and keep hot on top of hog roaster). Or Chaffing trays that keep food hot for 2 hours (or more) these are heated by 2 hour fuel canisters, and are perfect for out doors
