  1. Designed with nearly ten years spit roasting experience

    Over the last few years I have been perfecting the design of the Gourmet range. In my business I cater for over 100 events a year and with each one I have continually made small changes to the original design. The result is a spit roaster that cooks to perfection with the minimum heat, that looks stylish and is easy to transport.

  2. The Difficulty with some spit roasters

    In the early years I tried many styles of spit roaster. They all had their good points, but there was a common problem: heat loss. Most spit roasters use very thin stainless steel, particularly in the hood. This means that you have to amplify the heat which not only increases your running costs, but also risks "flaming, scorching, and smoke." This spoils the meat and unnecessarily alarms your host's guests.

    The Russell's Gourmet Range is made with a 2" thick stainless steel hood and adjustable side doors and maintains the ideal roasting temperature for the most succulent pork with crispy crackling using a minimum flame. It never fails, even for novice hog roasters.

  3. Electric motor with manual override

    The roasting turning mechanism is operated via a 240 volt mains supply or portable generator (not supplied). The unit can be adapted to be used with a car battery at an extra cost. If all else fails then the spit can be turned manually.

  4. Adapted to fit 1/1 Gastronom Trays

    The top part of the oven fits the full size Gastronom trays so that you can cook 50 baked potatoes at a time, allowing you to cook 150 during the roasting of a 50--60kg gilt pig. You can also warm your sage and onion stuffing or cook small cuts of foil wrapped meat, vegetables, and fish. Extremely useful.

  5. Complete with carving arms and tray

    The hood lifts off, the carving arms are raised,and the carving tray is placed underneath, wafting the delicious aroma into the air. Guests can wander over to watch you carve in anticipation of the delights to come.

  6. Elegant Presentation

    With its polished stainless steel finish your Russell's Gourmet will promote your professionalism. There is no enamel that can be chipped and trap dirt, just stainless steel that is easily cleaned and looks superb.

  7. Size for Every Occasion

    With the Russell's Gourmet you will be able to cater for a hog up to 68kg, serving at least 150 guests, more if supplemented with side dishes.

    The Russell's Garden Gourmet Gas Barbecue & Server is ideal for smaller events or to supplement the larger unit. An excellent barbecue unit is made again in stainless steel and comes complete with a removable 36" diameter Teflon coated hot plate. From here you can serve your sliced hog roast, sausages, onions, stuffings andother hot accompaniements so that the last serving is as hot as the first. I often use mine as a barbecue fund raiser at my childern's school fête, a fantastic advertisement for my business while helping a good cause at the same time.

  8. Easy to Transport

    The Russell's Gourmet is designed to fit into the trailer you already own, or can buy inexpensively. The hood lifts off the body so it goes into the trailer easily leaving plenty of room for your gas bottles, tools and accessories. The smaller Garden Gourmet collapses add fits into the back of most estate cars and car boots.
